First Gaston Foundation of the Gaston Community Foundation announced a grant to the BackPack Weekend Food Program in the amount of $10,000. Funding will support students who do not have a sponsor during the 2021-22 school year.
“Many families with children are facing hunger challenges, even more since the pandemic,” said Dallas Butler, Executive Director. “Grant funding helps us feed students who need it most so they have a better chance at being successful in school.”
