BackPack Weekend Food Program receives $5,000 from SC Johnson

These funds will help the BWFP to full fill their mission; To provide nutritionally balanced, non-perishable weekend meals to students in Gaston County Schools during the school year so they can come to school ready to learn. Welcome Jennifer Grant!

Jennifer Grant joins the BackPack Weekend Food Program as the Finance Manager, and Donor Base operator. Jennifer comes to the BWFP with 12 years of non-profit Finance experience. Her experience with Donor Base Technologies and her experience with non-profit finances will help to lead the BWFP into the future. We welcome her aboard.

Mary Kate Hurst, A Teens Changing Gaston County Board Member

Mary Kate Hurst A Teens Changing Gaston County board member wrote a grant and presented it to the TCGC Youth Board and was awarded $700 to sponsor two children in the BackPack Weekend Food Program.
