The BackPack Weekend Food Program is a village of individuals, organizations, businesses and community who CARE passionately about the mission of the program.
Our Mission:
To provide nutritionally-balanced, non-perishable weekend meals to students in Gaston County Schools so they can come to school more alert and ready to learn.
We Serve:
Up to 1,000 students each school year
Students in grades K-12
43 schools in Gaston County Schools
The Impact:
Nearly 900 students had food to eat on the weekend during the 2018-19 school year.
195,159 meals distributed to students last school year.
More than 1.5 million meals distributed to students since 2011.
